Language Note 3 - At the Store

This is our last post about interesting, and, sometimes, surprising questions for foreigners.

The other day I was at a store and I heard the following question:

  • Did somebody ring you up?
Or you might hear:

  • Has somebody rung you up?
Can you guess the meaning of it?

Take a look at http://www.answers.com/topic/ring-up
to find out about the meaning of ring you up.

Are there still any questions, vocabulary or situations related to stores you would like to explore? Leave your comments here to help you out.

What topic would you like to explore next?

These little tips are just fantastic! We simply do not learn all this on a class room! :)
What about when the stores offer you discounts if you open a store card??? "Would like 20% off on today's purchase if you open a store account today."
Just be aware that when they offer this store card, and you are approved, the interest rates on these cards are super high... Another little interesting fact while in a store in the USA.

Just, thanks for the reminder. I remember we commented the fact that many stores offer discounts for the ones who open a store card. So, be careful as not to fall in this trap.

Please, Just, keep adding up to our notes. I'm sure everybody will profit from it.

Beijos.
